Crailsheim, Germany, 10/05/2009. TLM packaging machines are classic top-loading machines and are known for box erection, filling and closing since 2002. For the first time during the interpack 2005 plastic trays were thermoformed filled and closed by means of ultrasound on a TLM machine.

Meanwhile, ultrasonic sealing and punching have become standard features on TLM packaging machines, and are so successful that Gerhard Schubert GmbH has decided to devote 2009 to ultrasonic technology. This year Schubert will exhibit its all-electronically controlled FFS system at seven trade fairs in Europe – including the Scanpack, which will take place from 20th  October to 23rd October 2009 in Göteborg, Sweden.

There are ten good reasons for ultrasonic technology from Schubert:

  • Short sealing times
  • Cold tool
  • Long service life
  • Energy-saving
  • Simultaneous sealing and punching
  • Validatable sealing quality
  • even with soiled sealing edges
  • Quick tool changes
  • No sharp punching contours
  • Easy-opening packages

The TLM thermoform filling and closing machines are not only the world’s first machines to use ultrasound for sealing and punching. They are also the first thermoforming, filling and closing machines to be equipped with a continually running film transport, and therefore enable continuous filling and long gassing times. Ultrasonic technology opens up many new possibilities for optimizing packaging processes.
