Dear reader,

At the start of another New Year, it is our very great pleasure to surprise you with the second issue of our Sequence magazine. Once again, you will find it packed from start to finish with interesting case studies ranging right across the broad spectrum that is individual product packaging.

On page 56 under the heading “Business aviation: Our very own wings” I have attempted to provide an authentic report of a business trip by air from Rothenburg ob der Tauber to Birmingham. What I am intending to do is bring home to some of you Sequence readers just what it means to run your own business aircraft. The advantages of owning your own “wings” cannot be over estimated.A lot of companies labour under the misconception that the costs are disproportionately high.Think again: The benefits outweigh the costs involved many times over.

And quite apart from all that, a company jet is simply great fun – something which should not be underestimated in this day and age. I cannot over-stress how important it is to have fun. Fun should always be the number one priority in anyone’s life. There are those that accuse ours of being a fun-oriented society. But my impression is that all too often people chase fun in their free time to balance out the stress and aggravation they have to endure during their daily work.Work should be fun! You may not believe it, but this is stated in black and white in the Gerhard Schubert GmbH corporate objectives, and we do everything in our power to ensure that our staff members enjoy what they do. Having fun is not always easy in our “you must think I’m stupid” society and in an economic culture bent on earning more and saving more. I only hope that the “You are Germany” campaign launched to raise the country’s morale actually bears fruit.

I wish you every enjoyment reading this new issue. Please do not hesitate to pass on any suggestions, comments or questions, which I will do my best to answer.

Very truly yours,
Gerhard Schubert
